The Complainant was present at the NIC Studio, Port Blair.   On behalf of the Respondents, Shri H. K. Gaur, PIO was present at the NIC Studio, Port  Blair. 

Information Commissioner : Shri Sharat Sabharwal According to the complaint, the Complainant filed an RTI application seeking some  information from the Respondents.  On 9.9.2013, he wrote to the Respondents asking for  details of the fee of Rs. 1056/­ demanded by them for providing the information to him.  Vide   his   letter   dated   20.9.2013,   the   PIO   informed   the   Complainant   that   since   the  information needed by him ran into 529 pages, he was required to deposit Rs. 1058/­ to  obtain the photocopies.  The Complainant made a complaint to the CIC under Section 18  (1)   (c   )   on   15.10.2013.     In   this,   he   stated   that   the   PIO's   letter   dated   20.9.2013   was  "misleading and
