Mr.Gyan Prakash vs Delhi Police on 10 June, 2013

Shri Gyan Prakash, hereinafter called the appellant, has filed the present appeal dated 26.7.2012 before the Commission against the respondent Delhi Police, South West District for not providing satisfactory information in response to his RTI application dated 20.1.2012. The appellant was present whereas the respondent were represented by Shri Surender Singh, ACP/SW, Shri Rajesh Malhotra, Inspector/Vig, Shri Chandra Shekhar, SI and Shri Rajender Kumar, ASI.

2. The appellant through his RTI application dated 20.1.2012 sought action taken on his complaint in respect of death of his son Pawan Kumar after he was drowned in a pond near Baba Haridas Temple on the eve of Chath Mela on 8.4.2011. The CPIO vide his letter No. 2023/(216)/ RTI Cell/SWD dated 21.2.2012 provided requisite information as obtained from SHO/Baba Haridass Nagar through ACP/Najafgarh.

3. However not satisfied with the reply of the CPIO, the appellant preferred first appeal before the FAA. The FAA vide his order No. 66/RTIA/ 2012(SWD) 2 Case No. CIC/SS/A/2012/002729
